Your adventure starts with a thrilling and enjoyable 90-minute speedboat ride to the eastern side of Biševo Island, where you’ll encounter the renowned natural wonder known as the Blue Cave. This spectacular site is one of the Adriatic Sea’s most remarkable locations. As you glide through the water in a small fisherman’s boat, you’ll be captivated by the mesmerizing blue and silver light. Although the cave’s entrance could only be accessed by diving in the past, a narrow opening has been available since 1884, allowing small boats through when the sea conditions are calm. Each droplet of water within the cave emits its own distinct color, creating an indescribable display of vibrant hues and light that sets this cave apart as the most exceptional among Europe’s many beautiful caves.
Following our visit to the Blue Cave, we will begin the “Mamma Mia” part of our tour. You will be taken to the charming fishing village of Komiža, located on the western side of Vis Island, where the essence of authenticity remains remarkably intact. You will have one hour of free time to wander through the narrow pathways lined with closely-knit houses, relax on the stunning pebble beaches, or enjoy a coffee along the promenade. It is rare to find another Dalmatian village or town on the islands that has so many lovely beaches in such close proximity. Komiža is abundant with these beautiful pebble beaches, all set against a backdrop of crystal-clear waters. While in Komiža, you can also visit the Fishermen’s Museum, which showcases traditional fishing tools housed in an old Venetian tower on the promenade—the only one of its kind in Croatia. Komiža takes immense pride in its fishing heritage. The area provided several filming locations for “Mamma Mia 2,” making it a standout spot on the western coast of Vis Island.
All the coastal scenes and seaside houses were filmed in this beautiful part of the island, which many consider to be the highlight of the Mamma Mia filming locations, making it well worth a visit.
Our second Mamma Mia location, even more breathtaking than the first, is Stiniva Cove. You can arrive by cruising along the island’s southern coast, as it can only be accessed from the sea. The ideal time to explore this enchanting cove, flanked by two towering cliffs, is in the morning when the sunlight is abundant. In 2016, it was recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. The most iconic scene filmed here features Donna and Sam rowing, capturing photos and getting to know each other on the boat in the bay.
Next, we will cruise by Srebrena Beach – the final, yet certainly significant, location featured in Mamma Mia on this tour. Situated at the southeastern tip of Vis, it is a favorite among the locals. This is the beach where Young Donna and Sam are seen taking a moonlit stroll in the movie. In that scene, Donna performs “Andante,” one of the songs from Mamma Mia 2. Additionally, this beach was where some of the cast members from Mamma Mia 2017 were spotted during filming. Our skipper will navigate by the beach, slowing down to provide an opportunity to capture some stunning photos.
Then we proceed to the next segment of our tour. You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy an hour of exquisite swimming at the Blue Lagoon, located amidst three islets on Budikovac Island, just a short 10-minute boat ride from Ravnik Island. The area features lovely shallow waters and a sandy beach, complete with a coffee bar and restaurant where you can grab refreshments during or after your swim.
Explore the Pakleni Islands from the seaside. You’ll have the opportunity to capture stunning photos from the boat, and our friendly skippers will pause the journey for a fantastic shot, without exposing your camera.
Upon discovering the natural wonders of the sea, you will be taken to the charming town of Hvar on Hvar Island. Here, you’ll have some free time to explore the cultural attractions of one of the world’s most stunning harbors. In Hvar, you can either enjoy sightseeing or have a lunch during your free time.
Here you can explore the charming old town, stroll along the promenade, visit the Arsenal—Europe’s third-oldest theater—see the Cathedral of Saint Stephen and the Bishop’s Palace. Don’t miss the opportunity to take a 20-minute walk to the Španjola Fortress, which offers stunning views of the Pakleni Islands and the old town.
After having a great time in Hvar, it’s now time to head back. Expected arrival in Split at 6:30 p.m. and in Trogir at 7:00 p.m.
